WHAT’S HAPPENING

COLLABORATION THURSDAYS FOR OCTOBER ARE THE 23RD, 30TH

HOMECOMING GAME TONIGHT, game starts at 7pm for Varsity and JV at 4pm SEE YOU ALL THERE!
HOMECOMING DANCE Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 18 in the Gym from 8-11pm pictures start after 5pm. DOOR CLOSE at 10pm.

APEX has started after school in Computer Lab 21. Teachers are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:15. See your counselor about signing up for APEX today.

WHITTIER COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE will be here to give information and answer questions on Friday, Oct. 17, at lunchtime, outside the College and Career Center. Stop by for more information about this private, small liberal arts college.

SPARTAN SOCCER GIRLS interested in playing this year: MANDATORY MEETING, Monday, October 20th, at Lunch in RM 60. Any questions ask Mr. Rodriguez.

STUDENTS’ IN 9TH AND 10TH GRADE who want to get better grades. On Tues. Oct 21 from 6:00-7:30pm, the counseling department will have a presentation on the services available to help you do the best that you can. Make sure to tell you parents.

PAGEANT AND SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY for young ladies: Ventura County’s OUTSTANDING TEEN Pageant and MISS VENTURA COUNTY Pageant Orientation-Information meeting will be held Sunday, October 12th at 3:00 PM, Coco’s Restaurant, 301 Daily Drive, Camarillo. Pick up pageant and contact information in the College and Career Center.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY EXAM dates have been set for Oct. 14, 15, 21 and 22nd. The test is given after school in Room 21, from 3:00 – 5:00. Space is limited – sign up in advance with Ms. Ricards in the library. Demonstration of computer proficiency is required for graduation

SHOES & PIZZA FOR CARL please join Peer Resource as we adopt The USS Carl Vinson and her crew sending them pizza and shoeboxes full of fun snacks and stuff they will need. Also include notes, pictures or pictures of your class or club that wants to adopt a sailor or pilot aboard the USS Carl Vinson. Boxes will be DUE by October 17 in the ASB room.

MARCHING BAND & COLOR GUARD FUNDRAISER EVERY Wednesday in October at red brick pizza, 4990 Telephone Road, Ventura. The fundraiser each Wednesday runs all day, and a percentage of sales will be donated to the band – just mention Rio Mesa High School Marching Band & Color Guard.

ESPARTANOS: The Latin American Student Organization or LASO meets EVERY Wednesday at 12:25 in Room 22.

CAMARILLO LIBRARY Want to put your brain in gear come join us for makerspace or an evening of construction. Team of 2 persons recommended. We meet EVERY third Thursday of the month from 6-8pm in the young adult area at the Camarillo Library. See you there.

ALL ACCESS VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR—On Thursday, Oct. 23, from 12 noon to 12 midnight, log into www.collegeweeklive.com and chat with or view presentations from 200+ colleges or universities. Check out a few colleges and register for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship!

ATTENDANCE If absent, you only have 3 days to clear an absence. Come to the Attendance window before classes begin, during nutrition, lunch or after school.

LIBRARY BOOKS remember to RENEW OR RETURN your library books. Library staff is here to assist you beginning at 7am! Students who fail to return overdue books will be receiving phone calls home. Don’t delay to return them now.

TEMPORARY JOB OFFER: SENIORS who are interested in working as a Poll worker, at Polling Stations for the Nov. 4 elections, are invited to submit an application. You will earn $110 for training and work on Election Day. Pick up information and an application in the College and Career Center.

STUDENTS with overdue textbooks please return ASAP!!! Textbooks can be returned daily between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm, the textbook room is also open, for your convenience, during nutrition and lunch. Thank you to all the students who have been returning overdue materials, your cooperation is much appreciated.
