SPARTANS FOR A CURE CLUB offers a HUGE THANK YOU to all who donated, worked our relay booth, and participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life last weekend at Camarillo High School. CSF Club joined Spartans for a Cure Club in providing community service hours to this worthy event. Please give a special thank you to our clubs co-presidents Dominique Derse & Sophia Soudani for working so hard to prepare and organize this event. Our team “Spartans for a Cure” is continuing to fundraise till the end of the month so if you would like to donate—please make check out to the American Cancer Society (tax ID #94-1170350) or Spartans for a Cure (tax ID #95-6002319) and drop it by room #9. (And yes of course I will give you a receipt) Also, a very special thank you to Mrs. Beulah Espinoza for helping supervise our students at this event.
ID PICTURES: Pictures for SOPHMORES AND JUNIORS will be taken Tuesday April 14th in the Wrestling Room behind the Gym. Remember Juniors you must take pictures for your Senior year IDs. Pictures for Freshmen and Make Ups will be taken on Wednesday April 15th in the Wrestling room also. You can take your ID pictures before school, during Nutrition, Lunch and your PE periods.

ALL STUDENTS: Would you like to be a Volunteer Coach? Rio Real School is looking for high school students to help coach their sports teams in boys and girls Soccer, boys Volleyball, and slow-pitch girls Softball. APEX STUDENTS! Remember that APEX schedule has been changed for second semester. APEX class is now meeting in Room 21 after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays ONLY from 3:15-4:15. Late buses will be running. Don’t forget to do your assignments for your APEX class; it’s not just quizzes and tests! See you after school.

ZAP PEER TUTORS NEEDED. We have an opening for a rotating peer tutor every Saturday at ZAP. If you would like to help your fellow Rio Mesa students get better grades sign up to be a Peer tutor. Strengths in any subject are helpful, but Math, English, Science and Word Processing/Power point/ Excel are exceptionally beneficial to our community. See Mr. Raymond to sign up.
DROPPING OFF ITEMS a quick reminder for student pick-up. All items dropped off at school by parents, such as lunches or forgotten items, should go through the main office. These items remain in the office and students have access to pick them up during passing periods, nutrition break, or at lunch. Please note that these items are NOT sent directly to classrooms with respect to instructional time.
ATTENDANCE If absent, you only have 3 days to clear an absence. Come to the Attendance window before classes begin, during nutrition, lunch or after school. If you are leaving early due to an appointment please bring in a note to the office before school starts.
PARKING LOTS Any vehicle not displaying a Rio Mesa parking permit in the front (staff) parking lot will be issued a ticket. No students are allowed to park in the staff parking. ALL students MUST park in the student parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.

U.S. AIR FORCE representative will be on campus to provide information and answer questions on Tuesday, April 14, during the lunch period outside the College and Career Center. Come to his table pick up materials about this career option.
U.S. NAVY representative will have a table of information on Wednesday, April 15, during the lunch period outside the College and Career Center. Stop by to pick up a brochure and have your questions answered about a career in the Navy.
IMPORTANT: VENTURA COLLEGE AND OXNARD COLLEGE ASSESSMENT TEST will be given at Rio Mesa High School on Thursday, April 16. Students MUST sign up with Mrs. Anderson in the College and Career Center by Tuesday, April 14. Take your Orientation “Certificate of Completion:” to Mrs. Anderson and she will give you a pass to take the test on Thursday, 4/16. Don’t miss this opportunity to take this mandatory Assessment test for VC or OC.
ALL STUDENTS: Do you dream of flying? Want to learn more about aerodynamics? On Saturday, April 18, from 10 AM-4 PM, there is a program called GROUND SCHOOL: THE ART & SCIENCE OF FLYING which will be held at the Camarillo Airport. There will be informational sessions throughout the day. Cost is $65 to participate and advance registration is required. Pick up a flyer in the College and Career Center.

NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR: ALL STUDENTS should plan to attend this, the BIGGEST COLLEGE FAIR OF THE YEAR!! JOB OPPORTUNITY the California State Parks system is recruiting for Seasonal State Park Aides. You would be helping maintain the State Park to which you were assigned, and will be working at the Park’s entrance station. The parks are located in the Malibu area. There is no age restriction. Salary is $10.18 per hour. Information is available in the College and Career Center.
