HABIT FUNDRAISER – Please come support the RMHS baseball team and have dinner away from home at the Habit in Oxnard from 4 pm to 10 pm. Present the attached flyer when ordering and 20% of the proceeds will go to benefit the program.

FISHING CLUB – The fishing club will be having a meeting today, during lunch, in room P-1.

IB VISUAL ART SHOW – The international Baccalaureate Visual Art Show will take place on Thursday, March 30th, at the Camarillo Ranch House from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Come share graduating artists work with your family and friends. It’s also the monthly Food Truck Night so have dinner there as well.

SENIORS – The APRIL SCHOLARSHIP LIST is now available in the College and Career Center.  There are 20 NEW scholarships in the listing!  Three of those are JUST for students at RMHS!  Pick up a list and read through it carefully, then apply for a chance for this free money for college or career training.   Some scholarships have deadlines in the first two weeks of April.  Don’t delay-apply for scholarships today!

U.S. AIR NATIONAL GUARD The U. S. Air National Guard representative will have a table of information outside the College and Career Center on Tuesday, April 4, during the lunch period.  Stop by and ask her about a career in the Air National Guard.

CURRENT SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS – If you are interested in taking an ROP course next year, please see your counselor for a list of class choices available.   ROP courses prepare students for careers by providing experiences that are engaging and involve real life learning.  Classes are available day and evening and include careers across every industry sector.  Many new classes have been added, some include, Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement, Fire Science Careers, 21st Century Marketing and Sales, and Sport Entertainment and Marketing, to name a few.  See your counselor or Mrs. McDevitt today for the complete list and to sign up.  Courses are assigned as first-come first-served basis with limited room.


SPRING MUSICAL – Please come see our Spring Musical “Cyrano de Burgershack” at the Rancho Campana High School’s Performing Arts Center on Friday (3/31) at 7 p.m. and Saturday (4/1) at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available in Room 56, from drama students and at the ASB window. Tickets are $7 now and $10 at the door.

ALL STUDENTS: Remember those RoadTrip Nation videos you’ve seen in our Naviance software?  RoadTrip Nation is asking students, who will be 18 years of age by July, to apply for a position to travel around the country with the big, green bus, from July 16 through August 10, 2017.  You’ll be setting up and conducting interviews on the subject of “Beating the Odds”.  All travel expenses, plus a daily stipend for food are paid by RoadTrip Nation.  Pick up information in the College and Career Center about this unique opportunity.  Hurry, because the deadline to apply is Monday, April 3.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is accepting applications for a full-time summer job that begins June 20 and ends August 12.  The program is called SAMO YOUTH and is available to current Junior and Senior students who have a minimum 2.0 GPA.  The work is outdoors, requiring physical labor.  Transportation is provided between Oxnard and the work site.  The employer is looking for applicants who are NOT familiar with National Parks and would like to learn about them by working in a National Park.  Applications are available in the College and Career Center.  The deadline to send an application is April 27.

SENIORS:  If you are planning to major in Criminal Justice at a four-year college or university, there is a new scholarship available, but the Deadline is APRIL 1.  Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have declared a major in Criminal Justice.  An application is available in the College and Career Center.

ELPAC TESTING – ELPAC testing will be held in the library on March 27 – 29th.

IMMIGRANT YOUTH EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE – There will be a conference at CSUCI in regards to immigrant students accessing higher education.  Lunch will be provided. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 1st.  For more information, or to reserve your spot, you can find flyers in the College & Career Center and in the Counseling Department.

CHICANO STUDIES SUMMIT – A Chicana/o Studies Summit will be held on Saturday, April 15th, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oxnard College Performing Arts Center. Come to network with those working in the field of Chicano Studies and/or advocates of those programs. (Flyer attached)

GRAD NIGHT – Grad night tickets will only be available until Wednesday, April 5…buy them now before they’re gone!! Grad Night permission slips are available at the ASB office.  You must have this permission slip PLUS senior contract on file with Ms. Erickson BEFORE you can purchase your Grad Night ticket.  Grad Night is June 14.

ATTENTION ALL SPARTANS – We are excited to let you know you are now able to buy tickets for home sporting events online prior to the game. Simply go to the following website: http://gofan.co/app/school/CA8023. Click on the game you want to support and then provide the payment information. Your ticket is then on your smart phone and can be redeemed at the door/gate. It’s that simple! Any questions, please see Miss Gina at the ASB window. Go Spartans!!

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY TEST – Dates for the spring semester Computer Proficiency test have been set for March 29 and 30th. Don’t miss your chance – sign up now with Ms. Ricards in the library.  The test is given in the computer lab, room 34; please arrange your own transportation.  Demonstration of computer literacy is a requirement for graduation.

PROM: Prom tickets are available at the ASB window.  The theme is Great Gatsby and prom will be held at CSUCI on April 29.

College & Career

SENIORS: Are you planning to attend Oxnard College after graduation?  Sign up for the field trip to Oxnard College for “OC FRIDAY” which will be held on Friday, April 28.  Permission slips are available in the College and Career Center and must be returned to Mrs. Anderson by Monday, April 24.

MARCH SCHOLARSHIP LIST – The MARCH SCHOLARSHIP LIST is now available in the College and Career Center.  There are NINE new scholarships, for a total of 54 scholarship opportunities.  Remember this is FREE money to help pay your tuition at a college, university or institute.  Pick up your copy in the College and Career Center and apply, APPLY, APPLY !!

SENIORS – Seniors may apply for a full scholarship to study IN CHINA for their bachelor, masters or doctoral degrees.  The Los Angeles Chinese Consulate is looking for interested seniors to apply.  The scholarship will cover the fees for tuition, accommodation, living allowance and medical insurance.  Students will study in their chosen major as well as Chinese languages courses. The deadline to apply is March 31.  Information on how to apply is available in the College and Career Center. (3/31)

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: The California State Parks system is now hiring Seasonal Park Aides at Point Mugu and Leo Carrillo State Parks.  You must be 16 years of age or older, able to read, write, and speak English, and have the ability to follow directions and learn work procedures.  If hired, you will be paid $10.43 an hour, and you will be required to purchase a uniform which costs approximately $150.  Pick up information and the application form in the College and Career Center.

Ongoing Events

THE SUPPER PROGRAM! We will be serving free meals from 3:30 -5:00 pm in the cafeteria. Anyone in the community, 18-years and younger, may enter our campus and enjoy a meal. All meals must be consumed on the premises.
