BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT was well-attended on Tuesday, September 26, at 6:30 p.m., in the quad. Principal Mark Contreras welcomed guests, parents, students, faculty and staff. The Spartan Marching Band, Cheer, and Mariachi performed for the audience. The evening activities provided parents an opportunity to acquaint themselves with faculty and visit classes during which course content, instructional standards, and grading systems were described

King Drake Hughes & Queen Catalina Escobal were recognized during half-time @ Homecoming Game on Friday, October 22. Over 630 students enjoyed the Homecoming Dance that night in the gym, while they danced the night away!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER – An evening of information about Military Service Academies was held at Adolfo Camarillo High School on Wednesday, September 27. Several Rio Mesa students attended this presentation, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Julia Brownley’s office. This was the last presentation offered for this school year. A video was shown and each Academy’s representative spoke and answered questions.
Mrs. Anderson attended the California Student Aid Commission Workshop on Wednesday, September 27, which was held at Oxnard College. Valuable information about Financial Aid, and the FAFSA and Dream Act applications, was presented and participants received a reference booklet to take back to their campuses.
