STAFF NEWS

On, Tuesday, Nov. 5th Rio Mesa High School PFO & Culture & Climate Class had a McTeacher Night fundraiser at McDonalds! Our RM Faculty and Mr. Contreras was there taking orders and serving customers.

COUNSELOR NEWS

College & Career Center

Another busy week in the College and Career Center at Rio Mesa! This week we had visits from 6 different universities! The following universities visited our campus: University of Oregon, UC Merced, Cal State Channel Islands, UC Irvine, CSU Bakersfield and Marymount California University! Next week we will have 3 universities visiting. The schedule is as follows; Tuesday, November 12th Chico State, Thursday, November 14th UC Davis and Friday, November 15th the University of New Mexico. All students are welcome to these presentations. Please be sure to sign up in the College and Career Center!  

On Monday morning, Cal Lutheran Admissions Counselor Diana Hernandez visited campus and assisted our students at our Common App Workshop! So proud of these seniors who despite the heavy homework load and busy schedules are making time to come to our workshops to get their college applications DONE! Keep up the good work seniors!!


For those students who couldn’t make the workshop please make note that the College and Career Center is offering help after school on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and in the mornings Monday through Thursday from 6:30am to 7:45am. Students can also make appointments with Ms. Magaña and Mr. Javi for individual assistance.   

ATHLETIC NEWS

Congrats RM Boys Cross-Country on their 3rd place finish as a team in the final PVL meet of the year, as well as their 3rd place finish in league. Individually, Micah Smith finished 2nd, Josh Weinerth 7th, and Daniel Alameda 12th overall. Spartans Elevate-Together We Rise! WE>me!

Congratulations to the girls and boys cross country teams for their performances at the Riverside Invitational on Saturday, October 26th.  Below are their times for the 3 mile race.  If you have these hard working student athletes in class, please give them a big congrats on their accomplishments this season.  They have been working hard since the beginning of July to achieve their team and personal goals and the coaching staff is very proud of them.
