What’s Happening?

MOVIE NIGHT: The Mesa Film Club is hosting a movie night featuring The Polar Express on Wednesday, December 18 at 6pm in the Library. Hope to see you there! (Exp. December 18)

FOOD DRIVE: Did you know that 1 in 5 kids in Ventura County goes to bed hungry each night. Please help by donating any non-perishable food item to The Food Share at one of the yellow bins placed on campus. (Exp. December 20)

REAGAN LEADERSHIP SUMMIT: FREE Leadership summit at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. Featuring keynote speakers whose infectious energy and passion for leadership will inspire your personal and professional journey. Expand your network: meet fellow students and mentors throughout the United States. This summit will take place on Friday, December 20th from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM. (Exp. December 20)

COLOR GUARD FUNDRAISER: Color Guard will be selling Reindeer Candy Cane Grams for $1 and Gingerbread Candy Pots filled with candy for $5. If teachers or staff would like to order the Gingerbread Candy Pots filled with candy you can email melanie.manansala@oxnardunion.org . The fundraiser starts on December 2nd and ends on the 20th. ADVANCED PLACEMENT STUDENTS: Your AP exams have been ordered for all students enrolled in AP classes. Best of luck AP students on your exams this May. (Exp. December 20)

DRAMA CLUB’S PRODUCTION: Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? Auditions for the Drama Clubs’ production based on Thor, Loki, and Ms. Marvel will be January 7-10 in room 60 at lunch and after school. Sign up to the Google classroom for more information: bxnyvy (Exp. January 10)

CARING CLOSET: There is still items for those who need hygiene items or jackets. You can speak to an adult you trust on campus or come by room 75. (No Exp.)

SENIORS: If you would like to get a fee waiver for the ACT, please see Ms Montero in the Counseling Office during nutrition, lunch or after school. If you could like a fee waiver for the SAT and did NOT get one last year, please see Ms Montero in the Counseling Office during nutrition, lunch or after school. If you already took the SAT with a fee waiver last year, you get your fee waivers for 2019-2020 from your online College Board account. (No Exp.)

MIGRANT EDUCATION PROGRAM AND ELD STUDENTS: Do you need help with homework? After School Tutoring is available on Tuesday and Thursday in the library from 3:15pm to 4:15pm with Ms. Gonzalez. (No Exp.)

College & Career

DUAL ENROLLMENT: Have Dual Enrollment? Oxnard College is offering an Emergency Medical Responder course held at the Camarillo Fire Technology Site. Transportation WILL be provided for students who have 6th period dismissal. Students will work with First Responders currently in the field, receive their CPR Professional Rescuer certification and their American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Card; upon successful completion. This course will provide students with five (5) high school credits.

The EMT R109 class will be on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 2:55pm – 5:10pm starting on Tuesday, 1/7/2020 and ending on Thursday, 5/14/2020. Sign ups will take place on Tuesday, December 17th from 12:00-1:30 in the College and Career Center. Please see Ms. Magaña before then to pick up a required Special Admission form. (Exp.
