WHAT’S NEW?                                                                                 

BOYS TRACK: Any boy not already in track class must get a class schedule change form and have coach Wrout in room 18. (Exp. January 10)

GIRL TRACK: Any girl not already in track class must get a class schedule change form and have coach Torres sign it in room 45. (Exp. January 10)

What’s Happening?

DRAMA CLUB’S PRODUCTION: Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? Auditions for the Drama Clubs’ production based on Thor, Loki, and Ms. Marvel will be January 7-10 in room 60 at lunch and after school. Sign up to the Google classroom for more information: bxnyvy (Exp. January 10)

ORMOND BEACH CLEAN-UP PROJECT: Please help us clean and restore Ormond Beach on Saturday, January 11, 2019 at 9am-12pm. Volunteers will assist with removing invasive plants, cleaning up trash, and planting native plant seeds. See flyer for more information. (Exp. January 10)

DANCE SHOW: Rio Mesa dance students present Throwin it Back on January 24, 2020. Show starts at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Pre-sale tickets are $5 and at the door $7. Hope to see you there. (Ex. January 24)

CARING CLOSET: There is still items for those who need hygiene items or jackets. You can speak to an adult you trust on campus or come by room 75. (No Exp.)

SENIORS: If you would like to get a fee waiver for the ACT, please see Ms Montero in the Counseling Office during nutrition, lunch or after school. If you could like a fee waiver for the SAT and did NOT get one last year, please see Ms Montero in the Counseling Office during nutrition, lunch or after school. If you already took the SAT with a fee waiver last year, you get your fee waivers for 2019-2020 from your online College Board account. (No Exp.)

Clubs / Athletics                                   

BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Tryouts will be held on Monday January 20th 4-6pm and Tuesday January 21st 8-10am in the gym. All boys interested in playing this season are invited, experience not required. Must have a completed physical form to tryout. Contact Coach Holdsworth in Room 24 if you have questions or conflicts with tryout dates. (Exp. January 21)

MIGRANT EDUCATION PROGRAM AND ELD STUDENTS: Do you need help with homework? After School Tutoring is available on Tuesday and Thursday in the library from 3:15pm to 4:15pm with Ms. Gonzalez. (No Exp.)

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT:  Seniors! Our next financial aid night is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd in Room 34 and Room 25. We will be offering help in English and Spanish. Please be sure to bring parent/guardian and student 2018 taxes and W2’s. Stop by the College and Career Center if you have any questions. (Exp. January 22)

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS: Students please remember to notify Ms. Magaña immediately upon receiving any scholarship awards so that she will know to include you in the Rio Mesa High School Annual Senior Academic Awards Program, to be held on May 27, 2020. (Exp. May 27)

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you have unverified absences, please see Mrs. Ramirez in the attendance advisor’s office to resolve them. Grad-Night tickets will be on sale soon, but you will NOT be allowed to purchase a ticket if you do not meet attendance requirements. (Exp. June)
