RMHS Vanilla Victory

8 of the Rio Mesa High School Capstone students were invited to LATTC on Thursday, November 16, for a vanilla competition under the skilled direction of Ms. Cynthia Allen. They had to create and submit an original recipe highlighting Tahitian Gold Vanilla Products. At the college, they prepared and presented their dishes to industry chefs, bartenders, cookbook authors, restauranteurs, and culinary specialists. Prizes included cash, vanilla products, and knife kits.

Kekolu Valdez, Seared Scallops with Vanilla Buerre Blanc, Wasabi Yuzu Emulsion

Estrella Mia Rivera, 2nd, Vanilla glazed Crispy Pork Belly with vanilla Mashed Potatoes
