Science
Welcome to the Rio Mesa High School Science Department! We offer a wide range of science classes geared towards your meeting the Oxnard Union High School District’s 3 year science graduation requirements as well as the University of California’s “a-g” entrance requirements and all courses are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). You will have countless opportunities to explore hands-on science through experimentation, research, and the use of new technologies in all your science classes. The Science Department is proud to be a part of Rio Mesa’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.
We invite you to email our teachers if you have any questions about the science courses we offer!
Our school focus is on research both informational and media literacy with an emphasis on academic honesty.

The 2021 Rio Mesa Science Fair Projects
Due to COVID health and safety protocols, we were unable to have our science fair showcase in the library. Despite all the challenges of remote and hybrid learning, these courageous science students still completed their science fair projects.
